Sertech

Sertech is based on a core of computational tools developed "In house".  They help clients make decisions in a timely and dynamic way; Their tools help design and evaluate public policies, produce market intelligence, generate communication strategies and monitor violence and insecurity.

Location

1. Norbit :Dataset made from Twitter data, extends readily available on Twitter georeferenced data using an in-house geocoding algorithm that works over unstructured text. Augments the available georeferenced content by orders of magnitude. Real time stream of tweets, most relevant content is about urban events (security, traffic, accidents, manifestations, etc)

Tasks:

  • Classify tweets
  • Event detection
  • Training pipeline for the geocoding algorithm

2. Media:Thousands of news sites crawled every day, georeferenced content

Tasks:

  • Summarization
  • Classification
  • Event detection

3. Video Surveillance: Training of video recognition software for detecting unusual events in real time and tracking objectives across several cameras

Tasks:

  • Data collection
  • Training pipeline
  • Algorithm reviewing and testing

Predictive Police Model: Enhancing performance of crime prediction algorithms and use decision theory for recommending optimal locations for police officers under a number of restrictions and objective metrics

Tasks:

  • Proposing and evaluating models and methodologies for crime prediction
